Trying out focus stacking

It’s now summer in Dubai, more so, it’s the Holy month of Ramadan. Shooting outdoors under the heat of the Arabian sun is a tall order even for one who cannot do without photography like me. Photography indoors, away from the heat of the sun is the only way to go. Now, what do I photograph? Still-life? Food? Macro? Might as well do all that and learn something new too for I have all the time in the world to do those. One technique that would be quite useful with all these is focus stacking.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Focus_stacking

Below are the first images that I have taken using focus stacking.

muffin1

Muffin macro shot…… my very first focus stacked image

mangosteen

Mangosteen focus stack…… Fujifilm S5 Pro, Sigma 50mm macro f3.2, 1/20s, iso 200, stack of 8 shots processed LR, PS7, Zerene stacker, Nik Efx and Topaz.

gripo

Drip focus stack…… Fujifilm S5 Pro, Sigma 50mm macro f3.2, 1/25s, iso 200, stack of 8 shots processed LR, PS7, Zerene stacker, Nik Efx and Topaz.

I would be sharing more, better stacked images in the future…. as I get more experience with this new technique. =)
